Dami Ojo likes living on the edge. During her years as an undergraduate honours student of Civil Engineering in Galway she witnessed the Irish coastline act as a European buffer against the giant Atlantic Ocean waves. In more recent times, Dami’s work has taken her to the edge of the Arctic Circle where she has worked for 2 years with SilverBack on a major battery gigafactory project in Sweden. And…. she is still pushing boundaries.

Dami’s role as Document Controller in the SilverBack team is vital as she oversees timesheets, liaison between different project teams, review of documentation and critical compliance with regulatory obligations. Furthermore, a career background in the construction industry has allowed Dami to bring great knowledge of site administration requirements, but also familiarity with one further challenge in construction – encouraging more women to work in the sector.

Indeed, Dami, as a woman in a male-dominated industry, is increasingly hopeful many more women will follow her to work on these ground-breaking projects, and build experience of new technologies and different geographies.
